40 Years

We've had lots of great discussions about the beauty and challenges of marriage around here. The comments from single women and married women alike have made me think deeply about how enormous an accomplishment it is to find a great love and maintain it over the years. Which is why, I watched in astonishment and great pride as my parents celebrated their 40th anniversary in front of family and friends a few days ago. 

I looked closely at their secrets whispers, side glances and intimate grins that spoke volumes of the beautiful history they have built together and it made me want to continue building my own. 

So here's to our marriages, yours and mine, and the great years that are to come.
