Barbeque Brisket – Yum!

Oct 19, 2010

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared any recipes with you. And honestly, this post today is a little self-serving. I know that when I give you one, my kind blogging friends most always give me some in return! So I have high expectations . . .and so does my family. (I think they are getting a tad bored with my meals).So. . . here’s one of my favorites. Although this entree takes a long time to cook. . .the preparation is super easy. It’s a Barbecue Brisket, a really easy one that makes all the men in my life smile broadly. We are just finishing up the left-overs tonight and these boys are no less enthusiastic today then they were yesterday when it was fresh out of the oven. So I thought it was worth sharing with you. Here goes:

Ingredients1 Beef Brisket (whatever size suits your family)1/2 cup of brown sugar2/3 cups of ketchup2 cups of Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce.Wash your meat. Place it in deep baking dish and season on both sides with garlic salt. In small bowl mix, sugar, ketchup and barbecue sauce. (These measurements are not exact and can be adjusted based on the size of the meat you have and how much gravy you’ll want). Pour the mixture over the meat. Cover the baking dish and put in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, either put it in your crock pot to cook all day or, pop it in the oven for 1 1/2 to 2hrs. Cook until tender.

Side note: this dish freezes WONDERFULLY. (You could get a bigger piece of meat and save some for later.)You’re family is going to LOVE IT! I made it with corn on the cob, broccoli, and rice pilaf!Ok. . my family is counting on you for dinner this week. What ‘cha got for me?
