Meet Linnae

Hey there. I'm Linnae. (that's "Lyn-Nay" for those of you who are wondering how in the world to pronounce that)

I've been with Going Beyond Ministries since January '09. I can't believe it's almost been a year already. I was first introduced to Jerry and Priscilla in September 2007 - at that time I was living in Nashville working for a financial planning firm. We have a mutual friend, Ellen Olford, who introduced us and the rest is really history. After about a year of talking and praying, God brought me to Dallas!

(left pic: this is my family - aren't they great? i'm the one in the front, second from the left) (right pic: our newest addition, Allie Jewel)

I'm originally from Chicago, but grew up in Memphis. I do love me some Memphis bar-b-que! I went to college at Ole Miss - that's the University of Mississippi for those of you who aren't familiar. Oxford is one of my favorite places on earth to visit. I was actually just there to watch the Rebels play one of their best games vs UT. Go Rebels! If you've never been, you need to go and experience a football game, The Grove, and the shopping on the square. I was very involved on campus in my sorority, Delta Gamma, and also did a lot with Campus Crusade for Christ.

(my friends and I at the Ole Miss game this past weekend)

I graduated from Ole Miss in May 2007 with a Finance degree and moved to one my favorite places on earth - Nashville, TN. I'm so grateful for the time I spent in that city. And just when I thought things couldn't get any better, God was so gracious to provide me with my dream job: working at Going Beyond Ministries.

I'm completely amazed that God would allow me to do such a thing. I get to work with the coolest people, be a part of what God is doing through this ministry, and it's just flat out FUN. What do I do, you ask? That's a great question. I'm still not really sure =) I do a little bit of everything around here. If you call in to the office, it's me you're talking to. If you order some resources in our bookstore, I'm the one who ships your package to you. If you are interested in having Priscilla speak at an event, I'm probably the one you'll talk to. I get to travel, help coordinate the schedule and traveling, etc. etc. What you probably don't know is that there is a man who runs everything around here, and his name is Jerry Shirer, Priscilla's husband. Basically, whatever he tells me to do, I do =)

When I'm not working, you can find me at The Pearl Cup sipping on some coffee and reading a book. If I'm not there, I'm probably running at White Rock Lake or around Dallas somewhere. If I'm not doing either of those things, I'm probably hanging out with my friends. I love being here in Dallas!

(my brother and I right after the Chicago Marathon in October)

I'm so excited about this blog - that you all will have a chance to get to know Priscilla and our ministry better. Give us a call at the office and say hello. I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time . . . Linnae

Hey Linnae!

Hey sweet Linnae!

I have really enjoyed getting to know you on the Going Beyond team! Let me just say that GB is very blessed to have you!

For anyone who doesn't know Linnae, she is one of those really cool people that doesn't come along very often in life. I'm so impressed by her professional capabilities...wearing lots of hats in her job and juggling many responsibilities so well. Linnae is deeply spiritual and thoughtful, and has a fun sense of humor that keeps things light and in perspective. Now, if only we could get her to eat healthy and run marathons...OH WAIT! She does that, too!

What can I say? Linnae rocks.

My Sunshine

Hello out there all of you who are just getting to know Ninny, as we call her. One of my ways of referring to her is "My Sunshine". Now she'll be embarrassed. But Rachael Anne is right, she is such a sweetheart and so wonderful to be around. So therefore the Sunshine name, cuz she brightens up your day. I'm blessed to have her as a daughter and guess what? We get to spend 4 whole days together in Austin, TX, one place she has wanted to visit and stay in for a long time. What does God have there for us two girls? We'll find out....it'll be such fun to explore with Ninny. Can't wait! Austin here we come!

My Ninny ...

Hello! I am one of Linnae's sisters and also one of her biggest fans. Nin, I cannot wait to see all that God has in store for you! And for GB Ministries. You are truly an amazing woman, friend and most of all sister. I simply and profoundly love and cherish you. I love you!!!

Hellooo there!

Oh my! Linnae! This is a divine moment...just recently discovered Priscilla's blog..(love her!)...(haven't updated mine in forrrrever!)
OK...so here's the deal. We too were at that game! My HS sophomore has fallen in love with Ole Miss...(cousin is a junior there)...But this Big Orange, Jesus loving, not sure I want my baby girl at THAT school Momma is having a hard time with this. So what does the Lord do? Sends me over to Going Beyond Ministries to read about this super, cool, Ole Miss gal who works there...:)
Wow! Lord you have my attention! Thanks for sharing a little about yourself and giving this mom some things to consider.
Blessings!
Teresa
ps: Wish ya'll were coming to Memphis soon!

Hey There

Teresa, I'm so excited and encouraged to meet you! Let me just say that I grew in my relationship with the Lord so much at Ole Miss and I know plenty of WONDERFUL people there that I would love to connect your daughter with if she ends up going to school there. Maybe it can make you feel a little bit better about her going to a rival school =) Just let me know!

Also, Priscilla will be coming to Memphis next month! Check out our events page to see more details. She will be speaking at Life Church in Cordova. We hope you can come!

Thanks Linnae!... I feel

Thanks Linnae!... I feel better already! I'll be in touch in the next year or so...:)! And soooo excited about Priscilla coming to Memphis! Will be there (and hopefully Gracie too!)! Last time I heard Priscilla was at Deeper Still in Nashville...still remember the message on David...I'm going to start praying now for the Lord to give me a Rhema!!
Blessings!
Teresa
