Rachel Anne Ridge
Not many people can say that they own a famous donkey, but Rachel can. In "Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed," Priscilla tells the story of trying to drag Rachel's lovesick stray donkey home from an affair with a neighbor's horse. Flash (that's his name) made a great illustration and Rachel still gets a kick out of seeing that shabby burro's picture in a Bible Study DVD! However, she's never told Flash that he's a star because she doesn't want it to go to his head.
Rachel has been married to Tom for 26 years and is the mother of three. Her two oldest kids are grown and she is savoring the last few years with her son, who is 15.
In her day job, Rachel is an artist and designer, which means she gets to do everything from painting murals and ceiling domes, to graphic design and space planning. She loves coming up with creative solutions for living spaces, and that's just a fancy way of saying that she loves to make things look great. Her career as an artist takes her into million-dollar mansions, luxury condos, tract homes and first apartments. She's found that everyone wants to have a sanctuary they love to come home to.
Rachel started blogging about creating a home sanctuary a few years ago and discovered a whole new world online. What she found was a wonderful community of readers and friends that she loves to "meet" with each day. Home Sanctuary is where you'll find her when she's not up on a ladder with a paint brush, or here at Going Beyond.
As the newest member of the Going Beyond team, Rachel is still pinching herself that she gets to work alongside her dear friend, Priscilla, and help run her blog. She will try and keep donkey stories to a minimum, or Flash will be impossible to live with.
