Hungry for God’s Word

Priscilla | Feb 18, 2010

It’s going to be a good day. I’m looking forward to it. In fact, I’ve been looking forward to it for a very long time. Today (Friday) begins our very first Going Beyond event of the year and I must admit it’s particularly exciting for this event to be in Dallas. It’s my home! There are folks coming who I’ve known since I was a little girl (quite an intimidating thought) and new friends that I’ve made along the way. We’ll all be gathered to worship together and hear a Word from our Lord.

I’m specifically excited to see so many different churches together in one place. I’ve long been fascinated by all of the large and impactful churches that are part of the DFW metroplex. They are each individually doing amazing things to encourage God’s people and make an impact in the community, and yet I always long to see them come together more frequently. This weekend, by God’s grace and for His glory, we are doing it. According to the details I’ve been given, we’ll be hosting groups from tons of denominations: Baptist, Methodist, Bible, Non-Denominational, Lutheran, Episcopal, Christian Church, Church of Christ, Assemblies of God, Community Churches and Fellowship Churches to name a few.

We’ll see women from the Potter’s House in the southern sector of Dallas, to Gateway Church in Southlake. Folks from Hurst, Irving and Oak Cliff will be there too. And we certainly cannot forget all the sweet women that are coming in from different cities like Los Angeles, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, New Mexico and Tennessee. Whew! God is always pleased when His women gather across lines that might normally divide!

So, I’m expectant. I know He has something to say to us. He must! That’s why we are all gathering from all these different places.

So, my ears are open and I’m eager . . . sitting on the edge of my seat . . . chin in my hands . . . Speak Lord!
