Light and Darkness: Part 3 — God’s Power

Shannon | Jul 23, 2020

This is Part 3 of a blog series on the significance and symbolism of light and darkness as seen throughout Scripture. I hope you are enjoying it!

Now, consider this . . .

His light is reflected in His written Word, acting as a lamp to guide our feet, and a light for our path (Psalm 119:105). It is in our best judgment to give all diligence to study His Word so that His way and will is illumed in our daily lives. It is crucial to our spiritual walk. As the light of His Word penetrates our hearts and swells in our minds, darkness dissipates, our vision clears, and our whole body will be full of light (Matthew 6:22; Luke 11:36). Christ will dwell fully in us and our thoughts, words, and actions will echo who He is.

As we reflect Him, our interactions with others will be punctuated by the fruit of His Spirit. We will be proof of His power, exemplifying the attributes of Christ and drawing others closer to Him. We “are the light of the world” and will shine forth His glory and share it with others. This is our mandate and privilege.

As we close our blog series on the power of Christ’s light, remember what you’ve learned that light is:

  1. His creation
  2. His Son
  3. His Word
  4. His people

Praise Him for the power of His light to overcome the darkness. Then, stay rooted in His Word so that you emanate the light and life of Christ into the darkness around you.
