Thankful

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. 1 Thessalonians 5:1

Yesterday was the day after Christmas and I literally spent the entire day sitting in my dad’s recliner with a plate of food in my hand. No joke! We watched back to back movies and just lounged around the entire day and reflected on what an awesome time we all had on Christmas day.

Once the conversations settled, the movies stopped and the food ran out, the Lord placed it on my heart to write down the things that I was most thankful for. The exercise seemed redundant and I hesitated doing it at first, but then my heart was flooded with so many things that I had a pen and paper in my hand without even thinking about it. It would take hours to share with you everything that is on my list, but I want to share with you a few things….

*My family and friends. Having a support system is such a necessity for me and that is exactly what my family and friends have been this past year. They have held my hands up for me when I grew weary (Exodus 17:12), and for that, I am so very thankful.

*Making it through this semester of seminary: Y’all this semester was a rough one and I honestly did not think I was going to make it. It seemed like every single day I had to combat thoughts of wanting to quit. I am so thankful that God gave me the strength to finish strong!

*God’s faithfulness and provision: I think I could write a book about this one. God has provided for me in ways that I can not even start to explain. He has exceeded my wants, my needs and my desires. He has been faithful, despite my faithlessness, and I am so thankful.

Now that I’ve shared a few things from my list, what are you most thankful for my friend?

Can’t wait to read all of your comments. Until next time….Antrenette
