Don’t Forget….Remember

Jan 05, 2012

Can you believe it’s 2012?! I cant!

One of the reasons why I was so excited on January 1st, was because I could finally slam the door shut on 2011 and start over! I could make new resolutions, learn new lessons, set and meet new goals and hope for God to answer some of my pending prayer requests. I had the attitude, “Out with the old, and in with the new”! As much as I wanted to forget 2011, the Lord kept telling me not to forget, but to….remember.  He told me to….

Remember the lessons learned in 2011. Remember the ways I provided for you. The doors I opened and closed. Remember the ways I matured you. Established you. Purged you. Healed you & Comforted you. Remember the prayer requests that I answered. How I delivered you. Sustained you. Satisfied you and the different ways that I revealed myself to you.  Most of all, remember what I have promised you.

Don’t forget…..Remember.

For some of you, 2011 was a great year and you are anxiously awaiting all of the joys and secret surprises that 2012 has to offer! You have your 2012 goals completed and you are waiting in expectation for this year to be better than last year. You have started your new job or enrolled in your first semester of school, or maybe you are expecting your first baby or have become newly engaged. Don’t allow the newness of this year to completely fade out the joys and the triumphs of last year. Remember how God moved and orchestrated things last year. Remember my friend.

On the contrary, for some of you 2011 was a challenging year. Your heart was broken, or you lost your job, or someone close to you passed away, or you waited and waited for God to answer a specific prayer and…..you’re still waiting. You would like nothing more than to erase 2011 and start over. As hard as 2011 was, you too my friend must…..remember. Remember how the Lord gave you peace and how He showed compassion towards you. Remember how He kept his hand on you, even when you wanted to give up. Remember His faithfulness. His loyalty and His love that is unfailing.

So, no matter what 2012 holds……

“Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced”. 1 Chronicles 16:12.

Praying for you,

Antrenette.
