Encouragement

Jan 08, 2012

Yesterday I had the opportunity to sneak away from my church to visit another church in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. I LOVE being able to visit other churches. I think I’ve told you this before but that is one of the things I’m so grateful for about my job – we get to be in so many different church bodies and it allows me to see God in ways I might not have otherwise been able to. It is a blessing to be able to see God working all over this world!

Yesterday I had a particular thing on my heart that I was asking the Lord about and seeking His direction and guidance over. Trying not to be discouraged but rather trust and wait on Him, I really wanted and needed Him to speak to me. After the service was over, a sweet woman took the time to pray for me and I am not kidding you, what she was praying over me was exactly what I needed to hear. This woman had no idea what I had been thinking or praying about, and yet the Lord gave her the exact words to say to me. Two strangers who didn’t know each other from Adam, randomly connect and pray together, and God answers my prayers beyond what I could have imagined.

God is so sweet isn’t He? This is how church was meant to be. A woman was loving and kind and willing to be used by God to a complete stranger. She probably didn’t wake up yesterday morning knowing that she would be such a blessing to a perfect stranger, but she took a step of faith, and that step of faith made a HUGE impact on my life.

We all have so much to offer. Each one of us. God wants to use us to bring a little piece of heaven to earth. I’m encouraged today to seek out more of these opportunities. To each day, on my way to work, ask God how I can be a blessing to someone that particular day. Every Sunday when I go to church, I want to ask God to allow me to love on someone that needs encouragement.

There are so many opportunities that await us today. Ask Him. Be filled with faith. And wait in expectation as He uses you in ways you could not have even imagined.

Much love to all of you today.
