Surprisingly Satisfied – Podcast

Priscilla Shirer | Feb 11, 2014

Several years ago I had so much fun writing a book called “The Resolution For Women“. Honestly, it was one of the most challenging projects I’ve ever undertaken. It stretched me in every way you can imagine. Since it covered such a wide range of topics, I had to think through concepts and ideas I’d never really tackled in such personal depth before.

I’ve been thinking about these concepts again lately and thought it might be fun to talk about them with you. Every Wednesday for the next 7 weeks, we will be posting a podcast that I pray will bless and challenge you. These podcasts are just a little glimpse into the themes presented in the book that God has used to change me in more ways that I can even begin to count.

So beginning today, meet me here with a cup of coffee, listen and enjoy.

Resolution for Women

Today, I want to talk about beauty of contentment. Being Surprisingly Satisfied.

If you’re anything like me there has likely been a season or two in your life that you’ve rushed to get through. Have you ever felt like you are in a race with yourself to finish something so that you can move on to what’s coming next? Have you noticed that you’re life is marked by “hurriedness”?

After you listen to the podcast today, I’d love for you to ponder a few questions. Let them sink into your heart over the next week and post a comment so that we can chat about it.

What you have you been hurrying through during this season in your life?
What have you been hurrying to get to?
What might God be trying to grow in your character or cement in your relationship with Him by keeping you separated from some of the things you want but don’t yet have?
What are the things/people you are missing out on enjoying or appreciating because you are discounting their presence in your life right now?

Don’t miss out on the beauty of all that God has for you in this current season of life.

Make a resolution, like the one I’ve written below, to live with a spirit of contentment.

I do solemnly resolve to embrace my current season of life and will maximize my time in it. I will resist the urge to hurry through or circumvent any portion of my journey but will live with a spirit or contentment.

It’s a resolution to be satisfied. It’s a resolution that will change your life.

Bless you sister,

Priscilla
